About the Giant Taro

This plant adds a touch of oversized elegance, it's striking leaves are said to resemble elephant ears. We have paired it with our black glazed curved pot.

The Giant Taro is native to the Pacific Islands and regions of Asia. Interestingly, whilst it has become a common houseplant, its leaves are used as a staple crop in Polynasia. If you do try to eat its leaves, then we recommend you follow the cooking instructions!

    Air purification
    To make the most of her air purifying powers, you need to regularly wipe her leaves down with a damp cloth.

    Humid environment
    This plant enjoys a modest humidity, she can thrive in normal room humidity. She will occasionally need her leaves misting to keep her in prime condition.

    The Giant Taro prefers indirect sunlight
